Server Room Temperature Monitoring
Early warning of temperature changes and the identification of hot spots in server racks can help to improve cooling efficiency and protect server room equipment including servers, storage and IT network devices. Other sensors can be added to monitor a range of environmental and security factors.
A key decision in terms of alerts is how to receive them. Our monitoring systems can generate alarms and alerts via email, phone call, SMS text messages, SNMP and web dashboard interfaces. Devices are typically hardwired with some options available for WiFi connections.
In terms of form factor the monitoring devices may be designed for 19inch rack mount installation or as standalone devices that can be placed on a shelf in a rack cabinet or externally on a flat surface.
The number of sensors that can be fitted to a monitoring device varies. Typical sensors available include: digital temperature, digital humidity, heat index, dew point, mains and UPS power, power current (Amps), active power, flood/water, smoke/fire, motion, room/door entry and air flow as well as analogue sensors, relay switches and network cameras.
