Analog sensors measure a range of values and the most commonly used analog sensor is one that monitors for temperature ranges from low to high or extreme temperatures. Analog sensors connect to the analog port on an environment monitor.
Environment Sensors and Hardwired Sensor Cables
A range of sensors for connecting to an environmental monitoring system via a hardwired 1-Wire or RJ11 cable. The sensor may be built-into the cable (temperature or temperature & humidity) or a separate product (battery, voltage and current) that connects via a cable to the monitoring device. Each sensor lists the analogue information collected and the environment monitor that it is suitable for use with. Detectors only provide digital status information (normal/event state) and include motion, smoke, fire, air flow and water leakage. For some applications (including industrial and harsh environments) an environment monitoring device may need to be installed with a suitable converter.
