Edge computing pushes data processing nearest to the device that needs the information to operate, rather than pushing the data back to a centralised datacentre. Edge computing is essentially a de-centralised approach. In terms of power protection to ensure resilience in an entire decentralised eco-system it is important to protect both the servers within the cloud datacentre and each data-processing point along the Edge computing network. Larger three phase UPS systems may be required for datacentres with far smaller uninterruptible power supplies required for small load servers, PCs and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
6kVA UPS Prices and Specifications
6kVA UPS systems available from Server Room Environments include floor standing and 19inch rack mount uninterruptible power supply systems. The UPS will support loads up to 6kVA and the kW-rating will vary depending on the output power factor of the UPS. The output connections will be hardwired with certain models providing additional output sockets. The UPS batteries will typically be internal with options for external battery extension cabinets for additional back-up time. 6kVA UPS have tower or rack mount or a dual installation format and are designed to protect workstations, servers and IT network peripherals including Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The UPS have hardwired output connections.

Load and Mains Power Connections
A 6kVA UPS system will have a terminal block to which a power distribution unit (PDU) can be connected to provide power to the load. Alternatively the UPS installation may feature an external maintenance bypass arrangement with the UPS system input and output connected to the bypass switch from which the loads are powered. Server Room Environments offers a complete electrical installation service. Please contact us for a free site survey or quotation.
UPS Battery Runtime Options
UPS battery runtime is dependent upon several factors including load size, battery charge percentage, battery age and ambient temperature. Our project managers can provide a calculated battery back-up time for your load and UPS system. The standard UPS battery is a valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) type with options for lithium-ion batteries available.
