The Netio PowerCable REST 101S is a smart WiFi plug and socket device that can be monitored and controlled over an IP network. The PowerCable has an IEC320 C14 plug and IEC320 C13 socket outlet from which power and energy consumption data can be gathered via web interface. The IEC320 C13 socket can also be switched ON/OFF remotely and has an API (application programming interface) for users who want to pull information into their own applications.
The power socket switches electrical output (ON/OFF) using Zero Current Switching (ZCS) to reduce wear and tear on the switching relay and supports independent output control (IOC) to ensure a stable output even during a firmware upgrade. Smart PowerCables also support automatic ‘WiFi Reconnect’ functions to improve IP network connectivity.
PowerCable REST 101S can be controlled using the following M2M protocols:
- ModBus/TCP
- MQTT-flex
- Telnet
- http URL API
- ISON over HTTP
- http Push JSON
- http Push XML
- XML over HTTP
- SNMP v1 and v3
The SNMP protocol can be used in parallel to other APIs. Regardless of the Open API selected, PowerCable REST 101x can be accessed and controlled from its web interface and the NETIO Cloud service. The Netio Cloud service provides a secure HTTPS connection through which to control the device over the internet. A NETIO Cloud ‘welcome credit’ is provided free of charge for each connected device. NETIO Cloud can be used in parallel with other Open API protocols, provides secure device communication (port 8883, MQTTs and TLS) and has its own Open API, which can be used to control all devices in a specific user account (using the MQTTS protocol). The NETIO Mobile2 App (iOS and Android) can also be used to control each individual output over a local area network (LAN) connection. The unit can be accessed using one Open API protocol and the NETIO Cloud service simultaneously.

Event Scheduler Function
The Scheduler Function allows the powering ON or OFF of each output to programmed into a weekly day schedule at specific times. This can be a useful features to save energy and periodically reboot connected devices.
- Each output socket has its own schedule
- The scheduler works without an internet connection; a time source (NTP server) is needed such as a local ADSL broadband or WiFi router
- Netio Cloud can also be use to control the outputs when the scheduler is active
Integrations and Drivers
Netio have a number of integrations and drivers for third-party products, services and cloud applications:
- Smart home automation
- Intelligent buildings
- Audio visual AV systems
- Server rooms and data centres
- Retail kiosks, signage and lighting
