The MK4 security door contact MK4 comes with a 2m cable and is designed for door opening detection. The door contact can be used ARES, Damocles, Poseidon2, SD-2xIN and STE2 environment meters.
The door contacts have the following four wires:
- Red / Yellow – door contact (NO)
- Black / Blue – Tamper Loop (NC)
On a Poseidon2 unit, the Red and Yellow cable can be connected into one of the inputs. For a tamper loop, use a separate input. The door terminals are normally open (NO) and so when a door is shut, the loop is closed. For the alarm to sound when the monitored door is opened, the Poseidon2 unit should be set to alarm when the inout if “OFF”.
