The AKCP powerProbe+ can monitor up to 48 individual electrical circuits (ways) within a distribution panel and record measurements for voltage (V), current (A), power factor (pf), load (kW) and energy usage (kWh), with a billable-grade accuracy of + / – 1%. The AKCP powerProbe+ is suitable for both single phase or three phase power circuits and has 3x voltage inputs, with each assigned to a bank of 6x Current Transormer (CT) inputs under software control. An external voltage transformer is used to isolate and protect the powerProbeX+ from high supply voltages.
The base unit will monitor 6 circuits and incldues 2x voltage transformers and 6x CTs. Additional circuits can be monitor by adding a 6-circuit module block up to a maximum of 8 blocks. Each additional block includes 6x 120A CTs. Additional 120A CTs can be ordered individually if required (PPX+120A-CT).
The AKCP powerProbe+ is ideal for monitoring multiple circuits within co-location data centres for client billing purposes and/or energy usage auditing within server rooms and other types of building facilities. The monitoring information can be used to improve Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), reduce operating costs and monitor energy consumption before and after system improvments i.e. upgrading to the latest energy efficient cooling systems, adopting a new cooling strategy, upgrading to more energy efficient uninterruptible power supplies, IT servers and lighting solutions.
The AKCP powerProbe+ has a Modbus RS485 port for connection to third party-devices, as well as a Basic Expansion bus (BEB) port to allow connection to AKCP expansion units in order to additional sensor ports, dry contacts or relays as required.
AKCPro Server Software
The AKCP powerProbe+ can be remotely monitored using AKCPro Server software (on-premises or cloud installation), with alert notifications (Email, SMS, SNMP or Phone call) setup or reported to 3rd party applications using a suitable protocol.
Installation Formats for the AKCP PPX+
The powerProbe+ series can be used in 1U (horizontal), 0U (vertical) and DIN rail mount installations. The overall design is low profile and compact design for installation in a server cabinet.
