EU Code of Conduct on Data Centre Energy Efficiency
Server Room Environments is proud to be an Endorser of the European Code of Conduct for Data Centre Energy Efficiency. The code of conduct was established to help guide stakeholders improve the energy efficiency of data centres in order to reduce their related environmental, economic and energy supply impacts.
The aim of the European Code Data Centre Energy Efficiency CoC is to inform and stimulate data centre operators and owners on how to reduce their energy consumption in cost-effective ways without reducing data centre resilience or creating downtime and outages. The EC Data Centre Energy Efficiency CoC aims to do this by improving the understanding the topic of energy demand and usage within data centres, raising awareness and recommending energy efficiency best practices, and key performance indicators and measures. The European Commission’s Code of Conduct is a voluntary initiative aimed at bringing together interested stakeholders including server room and data centre design companies and consultants, infrastructure and systems manufacturers, resellers and utilities.
Parties can sign up to the Code of Conduct as Participants (data centre operators) and Endorsers such as Server Room Environments. All are expected to follow the intent of the Code of Conduct and abide by a set of agreed commitments.
